Plot Summary
A merchant lives on a farm, and he can understand the words of the ox and the donkey. He heard the ox complain to the donkey about having to work very hard while the donkey did not have to work as hard.
The donkey gave the ox some advice: pretend to be ill, and the plowman would go easy on the ox and give him a break. That’s exactly what happened, but the donkey did not realize that he would have to do the ox’s work in his place.
